TERMS AND CONDITIONS
AK ACADEMY OF DANCING
CONTRACT AGREEMENT
PLEASE READ THIS FOR YOUR INFORMATION
- The AK Academy of Dancing (‘The Academy’) provides professional training in a range of classes to suit children from walking through to adults (‘The pupils’)
2. Fees for classes are payable by the term in advance. Each term consists of five weeks and there are eight terms per year. If paying weekly, this has to be agreed by the Academy first and a 10% administration charge will be added to the weekly payment. All lessons must be paid for whether attended or not by both weekly and termly payers. Refunds will not be given for any unattended classes (only at the Academy’s discretion), Including time off for shows and exams. Fees will not be carried over or used for other family members.
3. Invoices must be settled by the payment date stated on the invoice. Any fees outstanding after the date given will incur a 10% administration charge and fees unsettled by week 1 may result in pupils being refused entry in to the Academy until full payment has been made.
4. If a pupil wishes to leave the AK Academy of Dancing for any reason what so ever, one terms paid notice (five weeks) or one term (five weeks) in Lieu of notice is required, this must be given in writing on week one of the term to a principal (Andrea, Kim or Anna on info@akacademyofdance.com), or notice will be carried over to the next term. All term dates are under the diary dates tab on our website, for your convenience. This is irrelevant of any fees already paid for the term. If notice or payments are not made by week one, a 10% administration charge will be added and then £5.00 per week thereafter, which will contribute towards overall business fixed operational costs. If changing from one subject to another, no notice is required, however if leaving a subject/genre, then five weeks paid notice is required and must be given on week one of our payment term. Debt proceedings may commence if the notice and or any outstanding fees are not settled within 7 days of the written notice being given.
ALL TIPTOES TOTS AND TODDS are exempt from any notice, but please drop us a message to let us know if you no longer want your place.
5. Any deposits or monies paid aside from the standard enrolled classes are non – refundable. Any supplies provided by the Academy may incur necessary costs. All additional costs which incur will be the responsibility of the client.
6. Fees are currently exempt from V.A.T. We will inform you with one terms notice if this changes.
7. New pupils to the Academy may pay on a weekly basis for the first three weeks, subtracting the 10% administration charge, before being obliged to pay the remaining terms fees.
Tiptoes Tots and Todd’s will pay a £ 10.00 registration fee to cover three week trial lessons.
8. All pupils agree to take good care of their health and safety while at the Academy. In particular, all pupils and their parents / guardians agree to disclose any medical conditions or injury. The Academy is not responsible for any pupil before, in between or after classes.
9. AK Academy will not tolerate bullying in any form, including racism, threatening or anti -social behaviour.
10. Acrobatics has an increased level of risk, therefore the Academy will NOT be liable for injury of any pupil, unless due to the Academy’s negligence.
11. Pupils taking part in any performances outside the Academy, will inform the principal in writing due to licensing purposes and legislations. Students committing to the Academy’s biennial show, MUST attend all rehearsals and ALL three shows.
12. The Academy enters pupils for examinations and medal tests, these are not compulsory, and a pupil can be moved straight up to the next grade/level only at the teacher’s discretion.
13. The Academy reserves the right to refuse entry, or ask any pupil or parent / guardian to leave a class the Academy and or it’s premises if they act in a manner in which the Academy at its total discretion, considers unreasonable, and / or is not appropriate. No refunds will be given.
14. The Academy reserves the right to change class times and teachers without prior notice, dependant on required schedules at any particular time. This also includes any lessons that have to be performed by either Zoom or recorded.
15. Pupils, parents / guardian and staff welfare is of upmost importance to the Academy, therefore if lessons have to be cancelled at short notice due to reasons, the Academy feels it is not safe to open or due to Force Majeure, we will try to offer alternative classes. Refunds will not be given. Please always check the website or private Facebook group for all updated information.
16. All students and parents / guardians must adhere to the Academy’s code of conduct.
17. Any valuables brought to the Academy is at your own discretion. AK Academy of Dancing will not be responsible for any loss or damage at any of our venues.
18. All Pupils must have signed and agree to the Terms and Conditions contract and the GDPR form on line before attending classes.
The Terms and Conditions of this Academy contract is comprehensive, but subject to “addendum” (change without notice) where deemed necessary and appropriate. A copy of changes will be displayed on our website in upcoming events and a copy will be displayed in all venues for four weeks to view. It will be the responsibility of all Parents/Carers to view this addendum accordingly.
